Good evening fellow Midwest BUG members.

MANY THANKS...

to our 13 participants who joined us today for the 3rd session of the Midwest BUG. Our focus on the "Challenge" and "Change" components was greatly enhanced because of your kind sharing, enthusiasm, insights and camaraderie today Thank you.

MANY WISHES...

...for hope, peace, and prosperity to you and your loved ones during the upcoming Holiday season.

THE 4TH MIDWEST BUG MEETING:

Our next meeting will be hosted by BUG member Kristi Dinsmore (Director, Client Professional Services) of Sinclair Community College on Friday, January 11, 2007 at 12 Noon at the Kettering Campus of Sinclair Community College. Thanks for hosting Kristi.

Our topic: "The Individual and Combined Aspects of The Authority and Freedom Components". Naturally, that implies some conversation about Conflict Management. :-) Please RSVP via www.midwestbug.org or by emailing Todd.

See the event calendar for details and directions.

HOPES:

At today's meeting we revisited the reasons and motivations for coming together as a group. Below is what you said:

  • Discuss, understand, and share learnings about the Birkman
  • Opportunity to hear stories, applications, and interpretations of
  • the Birkman
  • See the purposes and ways the Birkman is used differently
  • See diverse perspectives
  • Bring more Birkman information to us (The Midwest BUG members) - i.e. opportunity to influence Birkman, Inc. to better meet our collective needs

GROUND RULES:

At today's meeting we took a few moments to create some ground rules to better meet the above mentioned hopes. Below is what you said:

  • If you share "it" with the group, we will assume the group can share "it" with others and use "it" themselves (otherwise let the group know in advance "it" is something that is proprietary).
  • We shall save the last 10 minutes of the Midwest BUG meeting for "Shameless Promotions", as long as it does not last greater than 10 minutes.
  • Speaking of that, don't forget to check out Rod Martin's website www.mybirkman.com )

IDEAS FOR THE FUTURE:

At today's meeting we shared several ideas for the future. We'll be exploring the below ideas further at our next meeting.

  • Possible Midwest BUG member webinar/ tele-conference with Birkman, Inc. professional or one of the very experienced Birkman certifying organizations on a topic of our choosing and mutual interest.
  • Possible Midwest BUG dinner meeting to accompany the May 20-21, 2008 "Team Building Ideas" with Patti Corbett in Cincinnati (don't forget to sign up)
  • Possible Midwest BUG live walk through of navigating the Birkman website and exploring all it has to offer (including reports you may not have seen or used)
  • Possible Midwest BUG meeting in Columbus, Ohio (to better accommodate our fellow members in that region)

Until next time...

Your fellow BUG member,
Todd
